The recent Open Country Club Championships on the Central Coast highlighted the incredible talent, determination, and growth of regional water polo clubs across New South Wales. This year’s event was a true showcase of the dedication and passion that define regional water polo, with every team contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the competition.

Water Polo NSW is pleased to unveil a new and enhanced approach to supporting our officials, following months of consultation with the refereeing community. This refined model aims to bolster referee development, streamline administration, and maintain high standards of officiating across all competitions.
Chris Shaw found water polo later in life, starting as a supportive dad and eventually joining the board of Water Polo New South Wales. In this feature, Chris shares his passion for making the sport accessible, his inventive idea of "water polo golf," and his pride in seeing the Aussie Stingers win silver at the Olympics.
