Lisa May GAICD is an accomplished global leader, Board Chair, Non-Executive Director, and keynote speaker and executive leadership coach with over 30 years of corporate experience, including global C-suite responsibilities. She brings deep expertise in governance, strategy, leadership, and business transformation, with specialised skills in marketing and communications and a strong working knowledge of cybersecurity, and data strategy.

Lisa has a strong track record in corporate and sports governance. She currently serves as Chair of APAL (the Apple & Pear Industry Body), and a Non-Executive Director of Priestley’s Gourmet Delights, and recently has stepped down as Chair of Steinhardt Group. Her governance experience extends to sports administration, having served on the Nom & Rem Committee for the Gymnastics Australia board and actively contributed to the swimming community.

Passionate about water polo, Lisa has been deeply engaged in the sport for the past five years, supporting development pathways from grassroots through to the National League. As a dedicated member of Drummoyne Water Polo Club, where she is in her third year on the committee, she works closely with athletes, clubs, and the broader community to support growth, sustainability and inclusivity.

Lisa believes WPNSW is at a pivotal moment, preparing to “reset” in season 24/25 and embark on a transformative journey to strengthen performance, participation, and community engagement. She believes at its core, WPNSW exists to serve its members and enhance their experience in the sport, ensuring that athletes, clubs, and the broader community receive the support they need to thrive.

As an advocate for inclusive leadership and long-term sustainability in sport, Lisa is dedicated to working alongside the board, CEO, and stakeholders to create a thriving future for water polo in New South Wales.
