Calling all Referees, enter the draw to win a trip to Thailand!

Water Polo NSW is excited to open Expressions of Interest to enter the draw to attend the 2023 Princess Chulabhorn Cup as the team referee!

This year, WPNSW Coaching Director, Al Caldwell as Head Coach will be taking the NSW U25's to Thailand to once again challenge for the Princess Chulabhorn Cup. NSW teams have a great history of success at the tournament.

"Tournaments like these provide up and coming referees a great touring experience, and we're excited to be able to offer a NSW referee with an opportunity like this." WPNSW Director of Referees, Andrew Carney said. "And because it will be picked at random, it is a great opportunity to create some competition among the referee cohort to see who can get as many tickets into the draw, while in turn continuing their own development, as well as giving back to their local competition as much as they can, it is a win-win for everyone."

The prize includes:

Return flights to Bangkok, Thailand
Accommodation with the NSW Team including breakfast
Full team uniform
Per diem

Requirements to Enter:

Be over 18 years of age
Have a current and valid passport
Be a Red development or higher level referee
Be available from 30 November – 3 December 2023 to travel to Bangkok, Thailand
Be available for team training sessions (dates and times to be advised)
Register your EOI before the cut-off date

How to earn tickets into the draw:

- EOI opens: Friday, 25th July 2023
- EOI closes: Saturday, 30th September 2023 (tickets into the draw will be back dated)
- Winner drawn: Monday, 30th October 2023 via www.randompicker.com
For each regular appointment = 1 ticket
For any STP/Academy training games = 2 tickets (to be confirmed by each head coach)
For any fill in / replacement games = 1 ticket + 2 bonus tickets (3 tickets total)
Eligible competitions / training sessions to earn tickets
- STP training for 15/17/19s
- Junior State Festival (2-6 September)
- Sydney Metro Competitions (up to and including 29 October 2023) - this will be managed via the WPNSW office and Referee Coordiantor
- Local Regional Competitions (up to and including 29 October 2023) - for each game appointed, a copy of the scorecard signed off by you is to be sent through to referees@waterpolonsw.org.au
