Regional Development Officer: Taylah Power

Published Fri 04 Aug 2023

In 2022 through an Australian Sports Commission (ASC) grant funded initiative, WPNSW was able to engage our first Regional Development Officer in Taylah Power.

Taylah has lived and breathed regional water polo as a member of the Newcastle Districts where she and her family have played an integral part of the local community as players, coaches, administrators and volunteers.

Taylah achieved a lot in her first 12 months, successfully implementing and facilitating many regional development opportunities and programs all aimed at supporting the growth of regional water polo, whilst also meeting the grant requirements.

Unfortunately after 12 months into a 3 year plan the grant funding was redirected by the ASC.  This impacted all regional development positions across water polo in Australia, and each State lost their Regional Development Officer.

WPNSW saw the benefit and contribution to regional clubs Taylah had, and we're excited to announce after a brief hiatus, Taylah is back where she belongs!

WPNSW has now reshaped the direction and KPIs to better suit the needs of our regional clubs and associations, strengthening alignment with the WPNSW strategic pillars of Develop, Play and Empower.

Taylah will be active in supporting regional members with key focus areas around the continued growth of water polo in regional NSW and driving new membership, programs and opportunities.

We are excited to have Taylah back onboard and we hope you will say hi as you see her around pool deck this Summer season.
