Skills clinic success in Coffs Harbour!!!
Published Fri 19 Nov 2021
Water Polo NSW recently organized a junior skills clinic at the War Memorial Pool in Coffs Harbour led by Olympian and Women’s Assistant Coach from Tokyo Rebecca Rippon. The Skills clinic offered two sessions for athletes to attend and WPNSW also invited the local Coffs Harbour water polo coaches along to the session to shadow Bec and learn from her. We had a total of 30 athletes and 5 coaches get involved on the day.
It was an exciting opportunity for the junior regional athletes to meet Bec and be coached by her. Bec said “It was a great opportunity to go along and meet the local water polo crew where we could share some knowledge, and see the talent and potential in our regional areas of NSW. It was also an opportunity to develop not only future athletes but coaches who help make the sport bigger and better going forward”.
WPNSW would like to say a big thank you to the Coffs Water Polo Association, and all the athletes and coaches for turning up, and special mention to Cheryl for all the hard work she does growing the game in her area. Finally, a big thank you to Bec for travelling up to Coffs Harbour to deliver the program. It is greatly appreciated by all.
The WPNSW skills clinics are designed for current athletes wanting to upskill their water polo game or new athletes wanting to try a new sport. The clinics are delivered in a fun and positive environment allowing kids to have fun and play some polo!
WPNSW look forward to delivering more junior skills clinics across NSW this summer! If your Club/Association are interested in a skills clinic please email tracy.elliott@waterpolonsw.org.au
