Published Thu 02 Apr 2020
As announced on the 17th of March, WPNSW declared that the remainder of the 2019/20 Sydney Metropolitan Summer Season was cancelled effective immediately due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All competitions have been deemed complete as of Sunday the 16th of March which encompasses the Junior Competitions and Division 1 & 2 Open Competitions.
WPNSW would like to congratulate the Minor Premiers for all grades in the 2019/20 Sydney Metropolitan Summer Season. Final standings are below.
A number of competitions had teams that had played a different number of games which resulted in these final standing having to use ‘Win Ratio’ to decide Premierships and minor placings. As per Competition Rule 20-2, Win Ratio is calculated by dividing competition points gained by the number of possible competition points and multiplied by 100. Where teams were still even on both Points and Win Ratio, further classifications were used to award final competition standings (Rule 20-3).
Water Polo in NSW has continued to go from strength to strength with another fantastic season of participation and competition. WPNSW would like to thank the clubs, players, coaches, officials and most importantly the parents and volunteers who make this sport and competition as spectacular as it is.
Medals and Premiership trophy’s will be available for collection from the WPNSW at a later date once the office formally reopens.
The WPNSW board and staff would like to wish everyone within the Water Polo community all the best during these uncertain times.
We look forward to seeing everyone back in the pool as soon as possible!
