VALE PAUL KERRISON (22/6/61 - 20/11/2016)
Published Sat 26 Nov 2016
Water Polo NSW are saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Paul Kerrison, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer over the weekend.
We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to Paul’s family; wife Sue and children Sarah and Jacob, the many people Paul has come in to contact with and shared his love of water polo with and indeed the broader Water Polo community.
Paul (aka Kerro) was a water person. In his youth, Paul was a competitive sailor, he worked on the water and later in life he turned to coaching water polo. Paul loved every minute of his life on pool deck spending countless hours watching his children Jacob and Sarah play water polo. He spent many hours on pool deck as a school coach at Cranbrook, Sydney Boys High, with his final coaching role at PLC Sydney in 2016. Paul also coached junior teams at Sydney Uni and Balmain.
For Paul, it wasn’t about winning but about doing your best for the team, he wanted to make water polo fun for his teams. This was the same message he gave to his own children. Paul was a regular at Drummoyne and Balmain games sitting in the grandstand, with Sarah alongside. Whenever Drummoyne played Balmain there were divided loyalties. He loved to watch the local water polo derbies and was a proud Balmain boy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kerrison family.
