Water Polo NSW Strategic Update 23/24
Published Thu 04 May 2023
Water Polo New South Wales has published the 23/24 update of our 2022-2025 Strategic Plan today.
We remain committed to ensuring our competitions, events and programs provide fun, welcoming and accessible water polo for all.
“It's our vision to make Our Sport, Your Sport,” Water Polo NSW President Suzanne Ramke says.
“This means we want to encourage our members to share their passion for water polo, as a player, referee, coach or volunteer, with the wider community and help us grow the sport we love.
“We're excited for the growth of water polo across NSW and our ambition is to grow to 8000 members by 2025 by increasing access to our sport.
“We believe this is achievable as we’ve had three new clubs sign up in the last 12 months, our award-winning modified programs Girls Making Waves and Fun Fit are introducing our sport to people who’ve previously not considered it, and our inaugural intervarsity competition generated healthy interest.
“With the highest number of members in Australia, from grassroots through to our champion 2022 U15 Girls, U17 Boys and U19 Girls and Boys Blues teams, to the NSW teams winning the Women and Men’s 2023 Australia Water Polo League titles, we are proud of our history and motivated for continued success,” Ramke added.
“Our water polo community reaches from Alstonville in the north to Albury in the south.
“We love our sport and are ready to show why, with a key strategic focus in inclusivity and access our priority. We are a welcoming community for everyone and our water-based team sport is fun and builds water safety and confidence.”
