Water Polo NSW is on a mission to provide an inclusive and welcoming water polo community for everyone who participates in the sport we love.
Today marks the beginning of the Sydney WorldPride and Mardi Gras Festival, with 17 days of celebrations to 5 March 2023.
As part of Sydney WorldPride, the Sydney Stingers Water Polo club with the Wett Ones Swimming Club are hosting AQuA Fest, with the water polo tournament to be held 1-3 March 2023.
Water Polo NSW President, Suzanne Ramke said supporting the AQuA Fest event is another way for water polo in NSW to live its values of community, enjoyment, inclusiveness and respect.
"Celebrating WorldPride and AQuA Fest events across our water polo community shows our commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful community where everyone is treated equally and feels they belong," Ramke said.
"As a member of Pride in Sport, Water Polo NSW is progressing our LGBTIQ+ inclusive initiatives, including educational sessions for clubs and stakeholders."
"In 2023 we will continue our work so LGBTIQ+ members of our water polo family feel safe to bring their true selves to our water polo community."
Show your support and register for AQuA Fest for a fun and friendly water polo event, the finals day is at the iconic Andrew Boy Charlton pool on the harbour, spectators welcome!
