WPNSW heads to Wollongong

Published Mon 01 Mar 2021

WPNSW headed down to Wollongong to deliver a U13 & U15 Development Camp. It was an excellent day with registrations reaching capacity!

The 6-hour camp was led by Charlie Negus (Wests National League Player, Aussie Sharks Player 2018), Tim Putt (UNSW National League Player, Aussie Sharks Player) and John Hedges (UNSW National League Player, Australian Junior Player).  The day began with a dryland warm up and demonstration from the coaches which targeted how to correctly hold the ball.

The athletes then jumped into the pool and were led through a series of stations focusing on fundamental skills such as; legwork & swimming with the ball, protecting the ball, passing and shooting. The aim of the stations was to develop our junior members within all aspects of the game.

Post lunch the athletes put their newfound knowledge to the test with 15-minute round robin games being played. This gave the coaches the opportunity to actively provide encouragement and feedback to the players which made for a great afternoon!

WPNSW would like to thank the following organisations for their support of the U13 & U15 Development Camp.

  • Macquarie Bank
  • Kap7
  • Uniactive @ Wollongong

WPNSW is eager to continually deliver development camps and skills clinics across the state in 2021!
