Dear Water Polo NSW Family,

What an incredible season we've had! As we wrap up the 2024/25 Summer Season, we celebrate the energy, passion, and commitment shown across our community. This summer, WPNSW proudly hosted four Regional Events, one Metro Event, and the vibrant Summer Metro Competition. Every player, coach, official, and supporter should feel immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together.

We’re also excited to share that Stage 1 of our Regional Road Show is now complete, helping us shape stronger service plans to support our regional clubs. On top of that, we’ve launched a new Strategic Partnership with KAP7 Australia to provide our community with high-quality WPNSW merchandise and apparel.

Regional Service Plan update
Stage 1 of the regional service plan is now complete with over 6800km travelled across NSW to visit the Clubs and Associations in person (we loved meeting you all in person!). Water Polo NSW has held meetings with 22 Clubs and Associations with a focus on gathering qualitative data from the members within the club. Where possible, the visits have included observations of the structure and formality of the local training and competition set up within the Club and Association. 

Stage 2 will now commence where WPNSW will review the key feedback and develop statewide objectives and specific regional outcomes. Themes have emerged from qualitative research around Competition support for regional participation pathways, refereeing and coaching, Integrity / behaviors guidelines for the entire community (in and out of the pool) with an additional need for more Governance support at both Club and Regional level.

Current Grants Open:
Local Sporting Champions - Australia Sports Commission
Applications opened: 1st February 2025
Applications close: 30th April 2025
The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.
If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.
•        Base Grant: $500
•        Applicants travelling 800km - 1999km to their nominated championships: + $100
•        Applicants travelling internationally or greater than 2000km to their nominated championships: + $200
•        Applicants residing in a rural electorate: + $50

A Partnership Set to Boost Water Polo Across New South Wales

Water Polo New South Wales (WPNSW) is proud to announce a new two-year agreement with KAP7 Australia establishing them as the Official Supplier of balls, equipment, swimwear, and apparel throughout the state.

NSW Community Sports Awards 2025: Honoring Our Sporting Heroes 🏆

Nominations are now open for the prestigious NSW Community Sports Awards 2025, celebrating the extraordinary contributions of volunteers who power community sports across the state. The awards recognise excellence across 13 diverse categories, from coaching to administration.

The awards ceremony will take place at Commbank Stadium on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, showcasing the best of NSW's sporting community. Nominations close Monday, 12 May 2025.

With more than half a million volunteers dedicating their time to sports in NSW annually, these awards provide a vital platform to acknowledge their commitment and service.
